Sustainable Development Alternatives for Speculative Office Buildings: A Case Study of the Soffer Tech Office Building. Final Report May 1999
Otherwise know as the "Soffer Final Report", we have found this report to be one of the most detailed and compelling research studies performed to date on the concept of an e-Building*. Specific cost comparisons and reported benefits can be found in Appendices A, B and C.

Underfloor Air Technology: Technology Integration
Another excellent overview of the e-Building concept*. The Center for the Built Environment (CBE) offers a wealth of information on current knowledge, what technology has proven to work, and what steps are currently happening to further knowledge into providing buildings able to support rapidly changing infrastructure, reduce costs and improve tenant satisfaction.

* Note: A confusion of terms exists in the industry about the differences between Green, Smart and Intelligent buildings. Although there are similarities between these different building designs, they are not always focused on the features needed to support the electronic infrastructure that is central to an e-Building design. Smart Building Solutions uses the e-Building term to clearly illustrate that we design and build buildings that support e-business infrastructure.
